What You Can Type With Transition Sans

With complete upper and lowercase letters and all ten digits, Transition Sans is ready for real wording, not just a single headline. Common punctuation such as &, !, ? and @ is included as well. It also has the accented letters you need for Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian.

How to Use the Alternate Letters in Transition Sans

Transition Sans has optional ligatures built in as OpenType features. In Illustrator and InDesign, open the Glyphs panel (Window > Type) and select a letter to see its alternates. In Photoshop, use Window > Glyphs. Figma shows them under the text settings as OpenType features. Canva and Cricut Design Space can't reach OpenType alternates, so for those, set the word in a desktop app first and import it as an SVG. Another 231 alternates are stored as separate characters, so you can copy them from Character Map on Windows or Font Book on a Mac and paste them anywhere, including Cricut Design Space and Canva. Ligatures and contextual alternates switch on by themselves: some letter pairs join into one shape and letters change to fit their neighbours, so repeated letters don't look copy-pasted. This works automatically in most design apps and modern browsers.

Where Transition Sans Works Best

Transition Sans is a natural fit for websites, app screens and clean logos. It works for headings and body text alike. If the download has several weights, use a heavier one for titles and a lighter one for paragraphs. Because the family has more than one style, you can mix them in a single design for headings, subheadings and highlights.
