What You Can Type With Starry Eyed
With complete upper and lowercase letters and all ten digits, Starry Eyed is ready for real wording, not just a single headline. Everyday marks like &, !, ? and @ are there too. Thanks to its accented letters, it also works for Spanish, French, German and Italian, not just English. Of its 509 glyphs, about 175 are not on your keyboard at all. That is where the alternates explained below live.
How to Use the Alternate Letters in Starry Eyed
Starry Eyed has stylistic alternates built in as OpenType features. In Illustrator and InDesign, open the Glyphs panel (Window > Type) and select a letter to see its alternates. In Photoshop, use Window > Glyphs. Figma shows them under the text settings as OpenType features. Canva and Cricut Design Space can't reach OpenType alternates, so for those, set the word in a desktop app first and import it as an SVG. Its ligatures switch on by themselves in most design apps: certain letter pairs join into one specially drawn shape.
Where Starry Eyed Works Best
Starry Eyed is a natural fit for comic strips, speech bubbles and playful headings. Its lowercase letters are tall compared to the capitals, which keeps it readable at smaller sizes. The file has no kerning data, so in logos and big titles check pairs like AV, To and Wa and tighten the spacing by hand. Cartoon fonts are great for short, fun lines. If you place it over a busy photo, add a thick outline or a drop shadow so it stays readable.
