What You Can Type With Sermo

With complete upper and lowercase letters and all ten digits, Sermo is ready for real wording, not just a single headline. Everyday marks like &, !, ? and @ are there too. Thanks to its accented letters, it also works for Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian, not just English.

How to Use the Alternate Letters in Sermo

Its 33 alternates are stored as separate characters, so you can copy them from Character Map on Windows or Font Book on a Mac and paste them anywhere, including Cricut Design Space and Canva. Its ligatures switch on by themselves in most design apps: certain letter pairs join into one specially drawn shape.

Where Sermo Works Best

Sermo is a natural fit for book covers, magazine headlines and classic branding. Its lowercase letters are tall compared to the capitals, which keeps it readable at smaller sizes. Serif fonts shine in headlines and printed text. For long paragraphs on phones, check that it still reads well at small sizes. Because the family has more than one style, you can mix them in a single design for headings, subheadings and highlights.

How do I install Sermo on Windows or Mac?

Extract the ZIP file, then open the font file inside it. Click Install on Windows or Install Font on a Mac. The ZIP has both OTF and TTF versions of the same font. Install only one of them (OTF is the better pick for Adobe apps), because installing both can show duplicate names in your font list. Restart any app that was already open so it picks up Sermo.

How do I get the alternate letters and swashes in Sermo?

The 33 alternates are separate characters, so copy them from Character Map on Windows or Font Book on a Mac and paste them into your text. This works in Cricut Design Space and Canva too.

Can I use Sermo in Canva and Cricut?

Canva lets you upload it on Pro, Teams and other plans with font uploads (Brand Kit > Upload a font); free accounts can't upload fonts. For Cricut Design Space, install it on your computer first and it shows up under System fonts.

Does Sermo support accented letters?

Yes. Sermo includes the accented letters needed for Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian, so it works for more than just English.

What fonts pair well with Sermo?

A neutral sans serif like Lato or Source Sans Pro is a safe partner for captions and smaller text.
