What You Can Type With Rimouski
With complete upper and lowercase letters and all ten digits, Rimouski is ready for real wording, not just a single headline. Common punctuation such as &, !, ? and @ is included as well. It also has the accented letters you need for Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian.
How to Use the Alternate Letters in Rimouski
Rimouski has stylistic alternates built in as OpenType features. In Illustrator and InDesign, open the Glyphs panel (Window > Type) and select a letter to see its alternates. In Photoshop, use Window > Glyphs. Figma shows them under the text settings as OpenType features. Canva and Cricut Design Space can't reach OpenType alternates, so for those, set the word in a desktop app first and import it as an SVG. Another 56 alternates are stored as separate characters, so you can copy them from Character Map on Windows or Font Book on a Mac and paste them anywhere, including Cricut Design Space and Canva. Its ligatures switch on by themselves in most design apps: certain letter pairs join into one specially drawn shape.
Where Rimouski Works Best
Rimouski is a natural fit for book covers, magazine headlines and classic branding. Its lowercase letters are tall compared to the capitals, which keeps it readable at smaller sizes. Serif fonts shine in headlines and printed text. For long paragraphs on phones, check that it still reads well at small sizes.
