What You Can Type With October Shine

You get every letter from A to Z in both cases and all the numbers from 0 to 9, which means October Shine can handle full sentences, dates and prices. Everyday marks like &, !, ? and @ are there too. Thanks to its accented letters, it also works for Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian, not just English.

How to Use the Alternate Letters in October Shine

October Shine has optional ligatures built in as OpenType features. In Illustrator and InDesign, open the Glyphs panel (Window > Type) and select a letter to see its alternates. In Photoshop, use Window > Glyphs. Figma shows them under the text settings as OpenType features. Canva and Cricut Design Space can't reach OpenType alternates, so for those, set the word in a desktop app first and import it as an SVG. Another 99 alternates are stored as separate characters, so you can copy them from Character Map on Windows or Font Book on a Mac and paste them anywhere, including Cricut Design Space and Canva.

Where October Shine Works Best

Think of October Shine for greeting cards, journal pages and friendly social posts. Its lowercase letters are small compared to the capitals, so set it a size or two bigger than usual. Set it a bit larger than you would a normal text font. Handwriting styles lose their charm once they get too small to read comfortably.
