Legendary typographer Erik Spiekermann designed FF Real Head, a contemporary neo-grotesque sans-serif typeface, alongside Ralph Olivier du Carrois and Anja Meiners. Originally conceiving it for Spiekermann’s own biography Hello I am Erik, the design team revisited and softened the characteristics of early 20th-century German grotesques like Akzidenz-Grotesk. While its sibling FF Real Text features wider tracking and specific legibility adjustments for body copy, the designers tuned FF Real Head tightly for high-impact headline presentation, branding, and poster designs.
