Steve Matteson designed Arimo in 2010 for Ascender Corp. as an open-source neo-grotesque sans-serif typeface commissioned under Google’s “Croscore” font initiative. Engineered as a direct, drop-in replacement for the iconic Arial font family, the typeface allows digital documents to maintain precise layout fidelity across open-source operating systems like Chrome OS and Linux.
